The Open Innovation challenge will start on July 18th, 2022 and end by August 19th, 2022. The online launch will be conducted on July 18th, 2022 via an announcement on SHV Energy official communication channels. All proposal submissions must be completed by August 19 th , 2022.

The Open Innovation challenge is open to participants' either as and individual or as an organization. Individuals must be at least eighteen (18) years old and with full legal capacity. Organizations, either as a business or academic entity, can submit more than one proposal. All participants must provide valid contact information

This challenge is not open to employees of SHV Energy and members of their families

Participation in the open innovation challenge is free of charge

Before submitting a proposal, you will be asked to indicate that you have read the Official Rules and that you agree with them

SHV Energy may at its sole discretion, remove or disqualify any submission and participant it deems inappropriate or non-compliant

Work with SHV Energy to lower their carbon emissions by 25% by 2025 SHV Energy wants to reduce their direct CO2 emissions in Scopes 1 and 2 by working and collaborating with global innovative solutions in various steps in their value chain.

Do you have a solution to reduce SHV Energy’s carbon emissions across their supply chain? As a global off-grid gas distributor, SHV Energy is looking for practical solutions within their:

(ii) Efficient Transportation & Logistics to build future-proof and environmentally friendly operations.

(i) Smart facilities, focusing on energy efficiency and renewable power generation in filling plants, offices and depots.

SHV Energy is also looking for Decision Support Systems to ensure the CO2 hotspots in these areas are identified, measured, managed, and acted upon.

If you are a startup with a ready to test or scale solution that can work with SHV Energy to reduce its CO2 emissions this call is just for you.

• The winning solution of the SHV Energy Sustainability Challenge will work hand in hand with SHV Energy to implement a fully paid pilot.
• Startups ranked 2nd and 3rd place , will also have the opportunity to access a partly paid pilot to implement their solution.
• In addition, SHV Energy will provide access to the global SHV Energy network, collaborations with relevant business units, and industry exposure.

All participants must register online and agreed on the Open Innovation Challenge Official Rules, Terms and Conditions and Data Privacy regulation before their proposals are accepted. An acknowledgement email will be provided within 24 hours after a successful submission.

All proposal must include at least the following information:

• Technology Overview/Applications
• Criteria/Technical Specifications (Please refer to #3. Challenge Topics and Selection Criteria for more information)

• IP information
• Capacity to implement the proposed idea
• Incomplete proposals may be subject to disqualification.

SHV Energy has sole discretion to select proposals and declare winner.

After review, selected candidates will be invited to a virtual meeting with SHV Energy in-house experts to refine their written proposals by up to 23rdSeptember 2022. Up to six semi -finalists will be notified by the end of September 2022 and have the opportunity to have more detailed discussions and be invited to pitch their proposal to an SHV Energy jury panel week commencing 10 th of October. The successful participants will be informed week commencing 24 th of October.

SHV Energy may alter the dates at their discretion. Any changes will be communicated to participants.

All participants must acknowledge and consent that SHV Energy can use their personal submitted data for event publicity and marketing purposes.

These Open Innovation Challenge Official Rules and thus your use participation in the SHV Energy Open Innovation Challenge shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of The Netherlands and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts and Tribunals of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
